Hello filmgoers!
It’s that exciting time of year again, the time for the Rainbow Reels Queer Film Festival!
This year the festival is being held at the Princess Twin Cinema and will feature an opening night Gala in the Kent lounge of the Huether Hotel on Thursday March 18th. The festival will continue to entertain audiences through the weekend closing on Sunday March 21st.
An exciting line up of films has been selected and promises to be an entertaining and enlightening exploration of queer cinema by taking you through a journey of local, national, and international queer cinema. This adventure will make stops, so to speak, at the work of Kitchener-Waterloo local filmmaker Melissa Sky and her film Three Questions, at the activist experiences of Toronto local Tim McCaskell & South African Zackie Achmat in Canadian director John Greyson’s documentary-operetta Fig Trees, and at the struggles still faced by queer identified Israeli and Palestinians who patron Jerusalem’s only gay and lesbian club in Yun Suh’s City of Borders. And so much more!
Individual film tickets will be sold at the Princess Twin Cinemas on the day of screening. Festival passes and Gala tickets are available at the Princess Twin Cinemas, the WPIRG office, and Gen-X. Ticket and film information is available on the Rainbow Reels Queer Film Festival website: www.rainbowreels.org.
